(Due to the number of inquiries for portraits not involving The Texas Fallen Soldiers Project,
Phil Taylor is accepting fee-based commissions from individuals and/or corporations.)

Commissioning a portrait is a significant undertaking and is a collaboration between the patron and the artist.  Phil Taylor always strives to create an heirloom quality masterpiece of the highest standards, one that will last for generations to come.

Portrait fees start at $15,000 for a single figure (head and shoulders) acrylic on canvas 22x28”.  Each portrait price is determined by the following criteria:  the number of subjects in the painting, how much of each subject is to be depicted, the size of the actual canvas, the intricacy of the clothing, jewelry, props and the complexity of the background itself.  For posthumous portraits an additional fee may be required based upon the quality of the photographs submitted.  Final portrait fee will be determined by the artist after the initial consultation with the patron and the details of the painting are finalized.

Commissioned portraits are payable directly to Phil Taylor and are not tax deductible as they are separate from The Texas Fallen Soldiers Project 501(c)3 non-profit organization.  A deposit of 50% is required before the artist begins, with the remaining 50% balance payable upon portrait completion and acceptance.  Commissioned portraits can take six months to one year to complete.

Travel expenses, framing costs, shipping fees and any state or city sales tax, where applicable, are additional.

Phil Taylor prefers to work from professional photographs as portrait sittings can become very tedious for the subject. To begin your commission process you may contact Phil Taylor directly to discuss your portrait details.

Thank you for your interest.
